| 2012-2013Rules
- Informal club competitions are held each month at our regular meetings. The season runs from July to May with a winner declared at the conclusion of the season.
- Points are awarded based on popular vote with 5 points going to first place, 3 points going to second place, and all other entries receiving 1 point. Additionally, the best name as decided on by the competition maestro receives 1 bonus point.
- Entrants must supply six 12 oz. bottles, one 64 oz. growler, or similar quantity.
- Limit one entry per person per month.

July - American Ales
In honor of Independence Day, we'll be judging any and all American styles.
August - Challenge Ingredient: Citrus Fruit
Dust off your zester and bring in all of your citrus-infused beers.
September - Amber Lager
This month's competition is BJCP category 3 - European Amber Lager. Get those Oktoberfests and Vienna Lagers ready!
October - Same Recipe Challenge
Everyone brews the same recipe with the exception of the choice of yeast strain.

November - Wild Card Month
Due to the late change for the Iron Hill Wort challenge, we've opened up November's competition to be any beer you want. Bring ANYTHING!
December - Challenge Ingredient: Alternative Sugars
Bump up your gravity with honey, molasses, maple syrup, candy canes, cake icing, or any other alternative sugar you can find.
January - Iron Hill Russian Imperial Stout Challenge
This is it! It's time to taste what everyone was able to make using the wort kindly donated to us by Iron Hill. Designated driver not included.
February - Insane Beer Challenge
Here's your chance to debut your Habenero Shrimp Flanders Red aged in a hollowed out wheel of cheese.
March - Belgian Strong Ales
This month's competition is BJCP category 18. Belgian Blond, Dubbel, Tripel, Golden Strong, and Dark Strong are all eligible.
April - Porters
Includes BJCP category 12 as well as categories 20, 21, 22, and 23 with porter as the base beer.
May - Single Hop Beers
Only one variety of hop allowed!
